A video format is the
structure and processes that are used to contain or assign digital media
within a file structure or media stream (data flow).
Media identifiers are labels that are used to uniquely define the location or name of objects. Media components are blocks of information (such as images, audio clips). Media coding is the relationship of data or information to the digital bits that represent it. This diagram shows how a media file may be divided into sections that contain different types of media objects. In this example, media objects may contain sections that define and contain other media objects.
